Evelyn is Nine!

Evelyn turned nine years old last week. She had a great birthday and a really fun party.

A Wintry Mix

More than once this winter we experienced a mix of snow, rain, sleet and ice. Add in temperatures reaching -12 degrees Fahrenheit and we've had quite a start to 2015.

We did manage to built a few snow sculptures and take a ride on a snow snowmobile.

Christmas Prep

The tree is trimmed, lists are finished, gingerbread houses are decorated, Kennywood lights were enjoyed, and cookies are made.

Happy Halloween!

We've been practicing for Halloween since mid-October. We went to a party, visited a local shopping center, did trunk-or-treat and each of the kids had a school party. Most of those things included candy, and all of them were attended in costume.

So it didn't matter too much that actual trick-or-treat this Halloween was cold and rainy, right?

Kids Day at Heinz Field

Evelyn had a fun day on the North Side visiting Heinz Field.



She was able to go down on the field to take the Quarterback Challenge and attempt a field goal, and she also visited the Steelers locker room and the press box.

Then we went to the Great Hall and listened to the the radio broadcast of the Immaculate Reception, so of course we had to walk across the street to visit the actual spot of Franco Harris' legendary catch.

Happy 100th Birthday, Pop-Pop!

Evy & Brandon's great-grandfather turned 100 years old today! The kids helped to paint a big banner and we celebrated with him this past weekend.

First Days of School

Both kids headed back to school - Evelyn to 3rd grade and Brandon to Pre-K.

Brandon is Five!

Brandon loves to play with his Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars. Every single day. So the birthday theme he chose was not a surprise.



His cake had a car on it. So did the decorations, balloons, plates, napkins and tablecloth. A lot of his presents ended up being cars, too. Did we mention that he likes cars?
